In april 2012 Viafrica's pilot 'KIDSworks' began in Tanzania and Kenya. The project Kidsworks will provide ICT support to some social organisations that visit schools with life skills programmes. These organisations are Macheo Children's Centre and Watoto in Kenya and White Orange Youth in Tanzania.
Viafrica gets 220 interactive e-learning lessons of the foundation ‘E-learning for kids’ to use on schools in Tanzania and Kenya. The courses are about language, numeracy, physics, English as a second language, computer skills, health, life skills and personal care. The lessons last between twenty and thirty minutes and are developed on the basis of the latest didactic insights.
De IT-Staffing Groep zendt sinds 2006 consultants uit naar projecten van Viafrica. De consultants werken samen met de lokale medewerkers aan een verbetering van het CLASSworks programma. De afgelopen jaren is er gewerkt aan het professionaliseren van de service organisatie, het introduceren van service contracten, het logistieke proces, trainingen en het opzetten van een helpdesk administratie De consultants worden door IT-Staffing geselecteerd op basis van een door Viafrica aangeleverd profiel.
In Kenya the pilot of the CLASSworksBox has ended followed by a positive evaluation and a new application for the next round of schools. In December 2010 the teachers of the two pilot schools, God With Us Girls School and Riabai High School, received a one day training about how to use the Box. They also got the normal getting started teacher training. In January 2011 they received the CLASSworksboxes.
