Through PC-Donatie Viafrica collects used hardware. This hardware is sold in the Netherlands. The proceeds are used for ICT projects in Africa.
PC donation is a joint initiative of Viafrica and SISO.
Via PC Donation we want to achieve two things; independence and freedom to spend resources. Viafrica has been able to carry out its projects because of donations from development funds. These funds have enabled us to develop our programs and build the organization. We do not want to remain dependent on these contributions. Firstly, because we believe they are intended to support new initiatives and secondly because the downside is that many of these funds will have earmarked money. This makes it difficult to adapt projects, adjust or redirect tehm. While we, as an entrepreneurial organization would like to have this flexibility to best respond to our audiences.
PC-Donation is supported by the "donate-your-network" campaign. We request everybody to use his/her network to generate tips for Viafrica about hardware replacements. Tips leading to a concrete donation will be rewarded with vouchers with which you can buy hardware.
