The project Kidsworks will provide ICT support to some social organisations that visit schools with social programmes. These life skills programmes have been developed by Viafrica's partner organisations Macheo Children's Centre and Watoto. Viafrica assists each school visit with 20 laptops, a beamer and a technician.
Social and health-related issues are treated, including hygiene, values, sex education and child abuse. In addition, children are also observed and some of them will get special attention. The visits take some days.
The advantages of using laptops and beamer:
• More attention from the children due to the visual aids, such as films, interactive games and questionnaires
• Improving computer skills of pupils
